If you are starting back at getting fit then explore your options before committing to a gym. Again it all comes down to convenience and lifestyle choices. Just because it’s the best fitness gym with a Spa may not be the best solution for you. Entering a state of the art gym can be a daunting prospect and an expensive commitment as they can have high joining fees as well as a long term payment plans.
You need to find what’s right for your fitness goals, cycling is a wonderful example. You plan to go for a 15-minute bike ride and you are having such a good time it turns into an hour ride. That would not happen on a stationary bike in a gym. Treadmills, Cross Trainers and Rowing Machines are good exercise equipment but it can become boring. As well as saving you some money in a gym membership, training in the fresh air is great for your wellbeing.
You may find you have a greater interest in participating in a sport such as boxing, martial arts or football. A local boxing gym may offer boxing fitness classes so as well as getting fit you are learning a skill and having fun.
In time you may feel a fitness gym is right for you but at least you have explored your options and you will get value for money once you decide to sign up as you know its right for you.
